In addition to releasing four albums as a bandleader, he has recorded with artists as varied as Tupac, Whitney Houston, and Cassandra Wilson. This Wednesday, The Jazz Gallery is proud to welcome Mr. Sotti and his trio—featuring bassist Peter Slavov and drummer Austin Williamson—back to our stage for the first time in 16 years. This past summer, Sotti released his newest record, called Forty. A collection of original compositions (plus a lilting version of Jobim's "How Insensitive"), Forty finds Sotti simultaneously emphasizing his jazz roots and showcasing his aesthetic range. Check out the record, which Jazz Times called "...a fresh approach to the guitar-trio tradition," below, and don't miss Sotti and company stretching out these tunes in new directions at the Gallery this Wednesday. The Fabrizio Sotti Trio plays The Jazz Gallery on Wednesday, October 5th, 2016.
