About our venue
The Jazz Gallery is located in the bustling neighborhood of NOMAD; the Flatiron Building and Madison Square Park to our south, and the Empire State Building a few blocks to the north. Nestled in between these two iconic buildings are old merchant stores, exclusive boutiques, and many restaurants and hotels. We moved here from our original venue in SOHO in 2012, and are excited to be a part of such a changing and interesting neighborhood.
We’re located on the 5th floor, and are one of those elusive NYC institutions with no signage up during the day as our building is landmarked and we aren’t allowed. So, you have to be in the know to know! On the evenings that we have shows (usually Thursday, Friday & Saturday), you will see our signs up, and will be greeted downstairs by one of our friendly staff (who are mostly all musicians themselves, and who you may hear practicing as you approach!). They will direct you upstairs to where The Jazz Gallery is situated, amidst a beautiful old skylight and our reputable stage.
The Jazz Gallery is all about the music! We are not a cocktail bar, nor a restaurant; we have wine available by donation. We hope you’ll join us to enjoy some incredible music booked by one of the most talented Artistic Directors the NY Jazz scene has ever seen, Rio Sakairi, who has been booking musicians at The Gallery since it opened in 1995. Afterwards, there are many wonderful restaurants and bars to enjoy in the neighborhood to continue your night!
Please note:
We do not take reservations for shows. To ensure that you can attend a show, please purchase advance tickets. General seating is not assigned, and is on a first-come first-served basis. You can pick your own seat at one of our cabaret tables.
We are an all-ages venue.
