This Saturday, November 4th, The Jazz Gallery is proud to welcome saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins back to our stage. We’re lucky to catch Wilkins home in New York for a night, in between legs of a tour with Jason Moran’s “IN MY MIND: Monk at Town Hall 1959” project. Though still in school, touring with Moran is just the latest way Wilkins has established himself as a mature musician with a distinct personality. Below, check out Wilkins performing live at Smalls with Joel Ross’s Good Vibes, alongside a top-notch rhythm team of Fabian Almazan, Harish Raghavan, and Marcus Gilmore.
For Saturday’s show, Wilkins will convene a quartet of his peers—including Micah Thomas on piano, Ben Tiberio on bass, and Kweku Sumbry on drums—to play his original music.
