This Friday and Saturday, September 13th and 14th, we’ll be presenting Fabian Almazan as part of the 2012-2013 Jazz Gallery Residency Commissions program. Fabian, a veteran Gallerian who has performed here with the likes of Ralph Alessi, Ben Wendel, Justin Brown, Walter Smith III, and others, will performing newly commissioned works this weekend with vocalist Camila Meza; they’ll also be joined by a 16-piece choir, which will mark his first foray into the realm of choral composition. Considering his background in orchestral composition and film scoring, this new music promises to be a treat for fans of this versatile, forward-thinking pianist.

If you’re on the fence, check out this interview with Fabian from last week, when we spoke about the new music he’ll be performing as well as his Residency experience. We hope that you’ll join us for these exciting premiere performances this weekend.

Fabian Almazan performs at The Jazz Gallery next Friday and Saturday, September 13th and 14th, as part of The Jazz Gallery Residency Commission 2012-13, with Camila Meza (vocals) plus 16-piece choir. Sets at 9 and 10:30 p.m., $20 general admission and $10 for Members. Purchase tickets here.
